New CBD Companies Launching
You’re not wrong if you think that there appears to be a new CBD Company launching every other day lately. Let’s check out why so many new CBD Companies are popping up!
Over the last couple of years, there appear to be hundreds of new CBD companies launching along with thousands of new CBD products flooding the market. While it’s great that people have access to more CBD products and CBD companies, what’s pushing this explosion in cannabidiol products?
In the following article, we’re going to take a look at what’s fueling the huge increase or ‘green rush’ that we see across the CBD and cannabis industry. All you have to do is type the words ‘buy CBD online’ or ‘best CBD’ into any search engine, and you’re going to see thousands of results pop up.
The hardest thing now about buying any pure CBD products or buying CBD online is sorting the good products from the bad. As with any industry, there is always going to be an element that is just looking to cash in and then get out as soon as possible.
Unfortunately, we’re starting to see this a lot in the CBD industry. There are a lot of companies out there selling no THC CBD online without much to support their claims. Let’s check out what’s changed recently that’s causing this massive surge in new CBD companies and CBD products.
What’s Fueling the Increase in New CBD Companies and CBD Products?
One of the most significant factors fueling the increase in the United States was the 2018 US Farm Bill that was signed into action by President Trump. The Farm Bill covered a lot of different agricultural aspects, but one part, in particular concerning hemp, was huge for the CBD industry.
The Farm Bill made it legal at a federal level to grow hemp (as long as it contained less than 0.3% THC) and also produce hemp products and products derived from hemp, including CBD. Previously, hemp was only to allowed to be grown under strict licensing requirements.
While hemp and hemp products are now legal at a federal level, the federal government has left it up to the states to choose how and when they implement the new changes. Some states had already legalized marijuana and hemp cultivation before the farm bill was implemented.
It’s because of this that it’s crucial that you check with your state’s rules and regulations before buying or importing any CBD or hemp products.
There’s Lots of Money to Be Made in This Huge Green Rush!
While it would appear that CBD and hemp products are a quick and easy way to make some cash, the truth is far from that. Before we get into that, let’s take a quick look at the difference between hemp products and CBD products.
- Hemp oil products – Hemp oil and hemp seed oil products have been around for decades, and there’s nothing about them that has changed. While they may have their beneficial properties, hemp seed oil and hemp oils don’t contain any CBD.
- CBD oil products – CBD oils and other CBD products contain the active cannabidiol (CBD) cannabinoid. They can be produced from either hemp or marijuana plants, but CBD products made from marijuana often have higher THC percentages than legally allowed.
- The problems start with unscrupulous sellers marketing hemp oil as CBD oil. The manufacturing process to make hemp seed oils and other hemp oils are straightforward and cheap. There are no complicated extraction processes that have to be utilized.
- On the other hand, extracting CBD from hemp is an expensive and time-consuming process. That’s why CBD oils are so much more costly than conventional hemp seed oils. Most CBD companies use expensive CO2 extraction to extract CBD from the hemp plant. It then undergoes a further series of processes until it’s ready to be delivered to the consumer.
How Can You Tell the Difference Between Hemp Oils and CBD Oils Made from Hemp?
Unfortunately, there are some companies out there that are trying to cash in on the popularity of pure CBD products by misleading consumers and selling them hemp seed oil. There are some different things that you can look out for that will help steer you away from the imposters and ensure that you’re only getting pure CBD products that are high-quality.
Avoid specific terms – Be wary of any hemp products that use every other word except cannabidiol in their list of ingredients. Cannabis seed oil, cannabis plant oil, cannabis Sativa plant extract, hemp seed cannabis extract, and cannabis oil are all buzz words, but do you notice there is no mention of cannabidiol?
Look for laboratory reports and testing – Reputable CBD companies aren’t afraid to stand behind their products and offer laboratory testing of their products. The lab reports serve two different purposes. First, they show you how much active cannabidiol is in the product you’re buying. Secondly, they show you that the CBD product is free of herbicides, pesticides, and toxins.
Outrageous claims – Avoid any CBD companies that are making outrageous claims about what CBD can and can’t do. While CBD shows a lot of potential health benefits, the studies are only in their infancy, and more research needs to be conducted.
An excellent example of this is to search for CBD products on Amazon. Amazon does not allow vendors to sell any CBD products on its platform, but a quick search there will bring up hundreds of products that all claim to be packed full of premium CBD.
Conclusion
While it’s great that more companies are entering the CBD industry, unfortunately, for every legitimate company starting, there seem to be 2-3 companies out to make a quick buck.
